"Tarilka" — is a unique project in Ukraine
The idea of a food bank is not new in the world, however, we were the first in our country to be able to implement the principles of foreign initiatives and help those in need by minimizing organic waste.
Our mission
According to the State Statistics Service, 51% of the population of Ukraine lives below the poverty line (as of the first half of 2020). At the same time, FAO reports that Ukrainians annually produce about 7 million tons of organic waste. We strive to create a culture of food banks in our country, which will allow to minimize both numbers at the same time. Ukraine of our dreams is a country where there is no hunger and waste.

A team is forming around the idea of "Tarilka".

November
Lviv City Council provides a venue for the needs of the food bank
2020
January
The first public presentation about organization's activities takes place.
2020
March
'Tarilka' created an informal Association of Charitable Organizations in Lviv (ACO).
2020
April
For the first timе saved food reaches the ones in need in a "quarantine format".
2020
November
A car to help distribute/collect food "Tarilkomobil" was purchased with the funds of philanthropists.
2021
March
We are expanding! Our "Tarilka" is now also active in Kiev.
2021
August
The food bank facility in Lviv was ceremonially opened.
2021
December
Organized a nationwide festive initiative to distribute food sets to individuals with limited mobility in five Ukrainian cities.
2022
January
Started the delivery of food sets directly to the homes of individuals with limited mobility in Lviv.
